MEET THE PLAYER
My name is Danny James Daniels, I am originally from Welwyn Garden City, the same birth place as Sir Nick Faldo and I grew up in Hertfordshire, 17 miles north of London. I am an only child and son to Angela Daniels and Michael Daniels. I had a great upbringing, however losing my father Michael in devastating circumstances in 2012 is a huge part of why I took up golf and have been able to use golf as my escape. I owe a lot to this game for giving me a chance to exploit my talents and provide me with life changing opportunities. In 2012 short after losing my dad, team Europe in the Ryder cup did the impossible winning the miracle at medinah. This sparked my interest in the game and began to dedicate all my time to getting the best I could at golf. My first handicap was 24 and by the age of 15 I had got to scratch and won the under 15s section in the Mcgregor Trophy (English under 16s championship). From here I went on to break records such as the youngest player to play in the Carris trophy at 14 and this was allowed by being the youngest player to win the southeast of England boys championship at 14 also. I progressed quickly and this ultimately was due to my desire to be the best and play for my country which Led to my debut in Ireland in the Irish boys where I came 3rd.
